Splitboarder | Applesauce Packet Enthusiast

As a splitboard mountaineer, and woman of 5ft 2in, Maxine aims to use her platform to show other women that they too can go far, ride big lines, and do technical mountaineering just as the boys. Her love of big mountain terrain is what has pushed her to ride numerous lines in Colorado's Gore Range, as well as in other ranges around the state. If it's steep, technical, tight, and rocky, Max is happy. However, while her passion is big terrain, she also loves to go meadow skipping with new partners and bring new people into the backcountry!

Maxine is also an aspiring avalanche educator. By day, she works as a Data Scientist, doing Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for a large tech company. As a result of combining two of her passions - data science and snow science - Maxine hopes to bring new perspectives to the world of avalanche education, snow science, and data in and around the backcountry industry as a whole.
One of her largest passions in life is sharing her love of the mountains with anyone who will listen. So, whether you meet her on the skin track, or at a brewery, she's always down to talk about snow science, gear, recent beta, or even just chat about the best skin track snacks (hint: it's applesauce packets).
