About the Course
The "Intro to Backcountry Course" is an entry-level course for backcountry skiing and split boarding. This program is tailored for individuals who have prior experience skiing or riding in a resort and would like to expand their horizons beyond the ski area boundary into the backcountry.
The main focus of this educational day is to develop your backcountry skillset, enabling you to explore outside of the resort with confidence and style. You'll learn how to prepare and travel safely in a backcountry environment.

Koby Yudkin
Koby Yudkin found his love for the mountains in the forests and volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest, where he was first introduced to climbing, mountaineering, and outdoor leadership as a teenager. He began his guiding career on the granite and ice of New Hampshire’s Mt. Washington Valley before returning west to guide throughout the Cascades and Alaska. Now based in Portland, Koby is an AMGA Apprentice Ski and Alpine Guide, and co-founder of Trillium Mountain Guides, where he leads backcountry ski, rock, and alpine trips
