I used these poles ski guiding, teaching avalanche courses, and also took them up Denali while guiding on the West Buttress. I love the grip, easy to hold, easy to cut hand pits, easy to plunge into the snow to observe different layers within the snowpack. They stood up to a Denali beating, aside from the stylish hot pink getting a little faded.
On my third pair of Folkrm poles, I have other poles they just don’t get used.

When the Pahto dropped I adopted early and hard, it’s easily the best pole for all conditions: now in a smaller more compact size!
When I broke a pole Folkrm sent me a new set just in time for a hut trip (thank you AJ!)

I’ve been rocking Folkrm since season one. Immediately fell in love with the long grips for touring. They continue to refine and improve them each year. Paint schemes are fire and they stand behind the product. Loving the new locking systems for mountaineering and spltboarding too.
I was skeptical about these poles as I am a splitboarder and put my poles away for the downhill, thinking the handles were too long. BUT turns out they work perfectly on my pack! I LOVE the long handles for steeper skinning as well as bootpacking when I shorten the poles. These are now my daily drivers.
Poles are light, compact, sturdy, and work great. Resort and backcountry snowboarding/skinning. These worked for all occasions and conditions. Being able to adjust hand position on extended handles is something I never knew I needed!

Went into moist Pacific Northwest backcountry. Skins were clumping up, so I whacked my skis a few times with the grip side of the pole. Entire top broke off, not that I use straps, but definitely a designed defect to have a hollow core at the top. You definitely shouldn’t whack the tips of these poles. Never had a pole I couldn’t whack before.
I don't have a lot of time yet with the Pahto ski poles, as I just recently got them. However, my first impressions have been good. My other poles are the Leki Helicon Lite, which have shorter and less grippy set of grips compared to the Folkrm poles, and the Helicon Lite uses plastic stage clamps, not metal like the Folkrm. I might like the baskets on the Helicon Lite more, but practically everything else is done better on the Folkrm. If the Pahto poles last me as long as my old Black Diamond Traverse poles (going on 13 years now), I'll be delighted. Otherwise, seem to be a very solid set of pole. Most of my equipment is from European brands, so nice to support a homegrown brand when it makes sense.
Love how light these poles are and the grips are amazing. Unfortunately one of the baskets fell off after 3 days of use, despite tightly screwing them on. Just had to order replacement basket.
Great Poles. Makes the switchbacks and the skin track seem easy. Folkrm's customer service is top notch.
I purchased these poles a few months ago now and absolutely love them! I ended up loosing one and the reached out the the Folkrm crew and they were extremely helpful and super chill. I highly recommend these poles and Folkrm all together as they are not only one of the highest quality ski pole companies but with a ski town friendliness vibe to the whole crew.

Liked these poles so much I shelled out for another pair when mine got stolen
The poles are light and have an easily adjustable length. I like the extended grip, which is great for side slopes and variable terrain. The baskets are a tad small for deeper powder. I would have given the poles a 5/5 if the baskets were larger.
I've only used them a few times but I love the grip as well as how easy it is to adjust and tighten them. Haven't found anything I don't like !

Great poles, love the grips. My only complaint is that I think the pole length below the basket would be longer, to get more purchase in the snow. When I compare the pole length to other poles I own, it's 1-2cm shorter and that makes a difference.
These poles are sturdy, but have a nice weight to strength ratio. Incredibly functional for all you back country desires.

Have used folkrm since their first year they dropped poles, the Pahto is combines the joys of a long pole for the up and shorten it up for the down! Never will go back to a pole without a long grip, for durability skied for 2 seasons on them, guided on them all this summer in Ak and no major breaks in the slightest (did I have to clean up rust...yes but hey saltwater just does that to your gear!) Now this year I get to be pretty and pink!!
Light, adjustable, grippy, and most importantly - PINK! If you're worried about going uphill quickly AND looking good, stop looking and buy a set of these. Lets face it, if you're styled out from head to toe and rocking the gear to compliment, you're going to be faster in the mountains. Like PF Flyers, this poles will make you skin faster on the up and crank turns harder on the down. Legend has it, these things can turn an icy day into blue bird pow day!
